Pergola Construction

Pergolas

Shade from the summer sun, protection from cold winter wind and the year-round comfort of an outdoor space for your morning cuppa, or a glass of something at the end of the day…who doesn’t want a pergola?

Not only will a well-built and attractive pergola add value to your outdoor area, but it can help reduce your energy bills and give your home or office a feeling of extra space in which to work and entertain.

Adding a pergola to your outdoor area doesn’t have to be difficult or costly; The Deckhead will discuss your budget and timeframe requirements with you, work out a plan that suits your needs and get on with constructing a durable and appealing pergola at your place!

Why build a pergola with The Deckhead?

The Deckhead uses the best quality materials, fixings and tools to construct a long-lasting pergola that will provide all the benefits outlined above, but which will also add value to your property. He knows the key to a sturdy and durable pergola is ensuring the foundations are solid, so always focuses on creating a great construction project from the ground up.

And, he’ll always make sure it’s built to your purpose; from a general living space to something more specific,
The Deckhead has built pergolas for a range of clients who use them for:

  • Creating an open-air setting in your outdoor space that can be used rain, hail or shine.
  • Letting in winter sun but shading you from the summer heat
  • Drastically improving the appearance of a property, either residential or commercial
  • Adding protection for shade-loving plants (and people!)
  • Joining the pergola to a freestanding structure or to the back of your property

How does The Deckhead construct a pergola?

Once a design and look has been agreed upon, The Deckhead will recommend, source and use a range of quality materials to build your pergola.

Treated pine - generally the best material for pergolas, unless you are putting a roof on straight away, as it’s pest, weather, water and decay resistant.

LOSP treated pine - a slightly more expensive but pre-primed during timber that provides protection from insects and decay, keeping your structure sturdy and straight.

Colourbond – a popular choice across Australia, Colourbond is available in a range of colours to match your property’s exterior look.

Guttering and down pipes – by fitting small lengths of guttering and down pipes to your existing drainage system, we can avoid water getting into your pergola timbers and causing ongoing damage.

Polycarbonate – in the form of sheet roofing, polycarbonate offers multiple options for different levels of tinting with a high UV rating, keeping your outdoor areas cooler in summer while also letting in natural light.
