Blue Archive<\/a> might look like yet another gacha game, but it is surprisingly better than I expected. It launched last year on Steam, and while it has previously been unavailable to work on the Steam Deck, there are plans in place to change all that. As part of the new year, Namco has released a post mortem report<\/a> of sorts for the game\u2019s progress in 2025, and plans for moving forward this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this New Year Greetings post, the developers go over the past year for Blue Archive, including some nice plans for going forward. PC support will continue to improve, including revamped controller support for the Steam Deck and further optimisation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are currently developing support for Steam Deck and controllers. We will continue to refine these features to ensure that Senseis can meet the students of Kivotos in a more seamless and polished environment.<\/p>\nGM-Arona - Blue Archive Forums<\/a><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Given how many gacha games are a struggle on the Steam Deck due to 3rd party DRM, this is a pleasant surprise. Upcoming content includes a new main story covering the Arius Squad, new fashion shows, and further optimisation. Gacha games like this require frequent content patches to keep going, so it will be interesting to see how Blue Archive does in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blue Archive<\/a> is available on Steam for free and is currently rated Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons, needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard, and small in-game text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
